Simply Fresh Kits is hosting "Scrapping for CF", a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis. We have classes from two very talented scrapbookers: Yvette Adams and Bec Spicer. 

Class kits are also available, but not mandatory.

Classes - $9 each - the whole $9 goes to CFNSW.

Kits - $20 each - $10 from each kit will be donated to CFNSW.

NB: I didn't run Scrapping for CF off it's own website this year, as Matt has not had time to sort out the content on the website for me... after waiting for several months, I took it into my own hands to do it this way.  Simply Fresh Kits is not making any profit from this venture, all profit goes to CFNSW.

Wow, 3 1/2 months have gone by.....

since I blogged!  A lot has happened in that time - and I guess I just didn't want to talk about it.  Nothing all that bad, but I have been in a bit of a 'mood' for a while.

So Matt was made redundant from his job of 10 years on 20th June.  Then he worked from home for his own clients for nearly 3 months.  We realised that money is few and far between doing this...

And mid-July, I turned 40... that was a good time, not a bad thing.  I had a birthday dinner and P!nk with Matt, and an outing with 10 girlfriends (and one boy) to Kavons, where I had a cute stripper!  a lot of drinks, and a verrrryyy good time!

Matt started a job in Sydney 2 1/2 weeks ago - which means he is up at 5, and gets home at 7.40pm.  He spends about 6 hrs on the train every day.  It's been hard on us all - but I am noticing how tired Matt is and how much we are all missing him.

We also faced the challenge of having to move.  I HATE moving with a passion - I have moved too many times, and this time seemed a lot more daunting with two kids in tow, and lots and lots more possessions!  The house hunting etc is all behind us, and we move in approx two weeks to a big, 12 mth old two storey home at Charlestown, which is going to enable me to have a studio right as you walk in the front door, and a bit seperate from the rest of the house.  So we are about half packed!

I have also been scrapping still, and I have forgotten what I have and haven't shared since I last posted.  So i'm just going to upload some random layouts...  I am going to start packing my scrapping stuff in the next couple of days, after I finish off a couple of deadlines!

... and then I probably will not blog again for at least a month LOL.  But it's all good. Matt went for a job interview today for a job in Newcastle.  So they'll let him know at the end of the week.  Crossing fingers!

Wow, two posts in one night!

Our new Simply Fresh Kits vintage inspired kits are about to be released, and here are the layouts I have completed from one of our kits.

and this is the layout I did for 123 Challenge as the Creative Team member for Simply Fresh Kits.

The challenge was to use more than 6 buttons, fabric, hand stitching and lace.

this is using our Autumn Spice kit.

And yet another month has rolled by....

It's been a busy month.  

Went to the Scrapbook n Bits retreat about 4 weeks ago. Lots of fun, not a lot of sleep though.

Jacob celebrated his 2nd birthday on Friday.  We went to the Cystic Fibrosis Ball that night!  

Here is my boy - firstly on the night of his birthday, with the train cake I made (with Sophie's assistance), and secondly, the next day at his Lollypops party!

I have also been busy doing photo shoots and getting my photography website ready, which is now up - the basic version... www.newcastlecreativephotography.com.au

Matt is redundant on the 20th ... not redundant to me LOL, but from his job of 10 years. He will still contract for them if there is work.  In the meantime, he is trying to build up his own business that we have had part time for about 10 years.  www.newcastlecreativemedia.com.au

So, not sure what the future brings, and sometimes I think it is all for the best, and other times, I'm nervous... I'm sure we will be ok.

Not very good at updating this thing!

It's nearly been another month!  Lots has happened.  I quit my job... Matt's looks like he may not have a job soon.  I have oesteoarthritis in my knees..   

Jacob did his first wee on the potty on Monday night - could have been a fluke!

The last week I have been reorganising everything!  Spring cleaning in winter.

I think some of my current layouts are saved to my external hard drive which needs some fixing.  

Here are some, all done for challenges at Scrapbook n Bits..  the first two, that is our horrible floor as the background.  "The Kids" was the winner of one of the challenges!

Another month has flown by...

I can't believe it is getting close to the end of April.  Well, that is until the cool weather hit us a couple of days ago.  Then it felt like it.

tt has been on holidays since Easter, which has been nice.  We had a lovely Easter, not doing much.  Then we went to Umina Beach for 3 days and stayed at a holiday park - lots of things for the kids to do - and they even got to swim it was so warm.  Here's a pic of each of them in the playground.

Did I mention that I got a Canon 5DII just before Easter!  Oh yeah!  I'm still getting used to it's features etc, and also the lens, which I love.  F4 24-105mm.... it's a smooth baby.

Anyway, here are some layouts I have scrapped recently - I have a few more that I haven't taken pics of yet.

Time flies....

Where did the last month go?  Our lives are usually busy, but we have added a few extra things to keep up the challenge factor.  I have started a new casual job - at the moment, it's not many hours a week.  At Blue Illusion at Westfield.  A women's fashion store, they also sell homewares.

Since my Contours has closed, I have joined Fitness First recently, and that is taking up a surprising amount of time - I am going in the mornings as they have a creche.  I was worried how Jacob would react to being left there - he doesn't like going to strangers.  But he has been fine, although always glad to see me when I pick him up.  It's surprising how much of the morning is gone by the time we get out of there.

I have been doing lots of scrapbooking also - lots of challenges at Scrapbook n Bits. Here they are...

Anyway, have to get this day started and start getting the two kids organised and ready...  busy day of coffee with Sharon and a bit of shopping.  Home to wash the floors, and do some tidying up.  Then scrapping whilst watching Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters tonight (I fall asleep if I'm just watching TV!)

Raising money for the Victorian Red Cross Fire Appeal

So at Simply Fresh Kits we decided we just had to do something to help the appeal for the Victorian fire victims.  We thought, what can we do that is immediate!

Tuesday Talk

We have just released our latest kit - "Love is in the Air"... it's full of yummy papers and embellishments.  This week, we are updating the blog daily with projects from each of the DT.

FIRES

It is just heartbreaking to see what people are living through in Victoria.  What a terrible ordeal.  It would be so scary to be stuck in the middle of fires, and so upsetting to lose family, friends and everything you own.  I am putting on my thinking cap and trying to come up with some ideas of what we can do to help.  My heart goes out to those people, and I want to do something.

Sharing some scrappin'

Typepad has been wigging out on me - this is the fifth time I've tried to post this since yesterday afternoon.

Here are some fun challenges I did at Scrapbook n Bits.

This first one was Scrap Your Stash, and we had to use chipboard flowers, lots of brads and rubons.

 

This second one was sort of a scraplift.  Unfortunately, Jacob got hold of it, and there is a huge crease down the right hand side. I will get the photo reprinted and then try to take everything off and use a new piece of cardstock - I really love this one!
